A photo album is essentially just a folder that is specifically designed to hold photos. So the basic concept is, add the photo album folder then add individual photos into that folder.

Step-by-steps

Create the Photo Album
1. First make sure you are logged into the site so you have the rights to add and edit files in your member folder.

2. After you signed into the site, click on "my folder" link from the blue bar in the upper right.

3. This brings up a page showing you everything in your members folder. If you just joined the site you'll probably only see one item, a document. This document is your home page and should be called something like "Home page for yourusername".

4. Now we'll add the photo album folder. In the drop down menu next to the "add new item" button, select "Photo Album". Then click the "add new item" button, to add the new photo album.

5. This brings up the Edit Folder page. In the Short Name field, enter a name for your Photo Album. This is the name used when linking to your album in HTML so don't use spaces, upper case, underscores, or special characters. Give it a short name that makes sense like 'birthday05' or 'summervactionlake'.

6. In the Title field enter the title or name you want the album to be called. This is the title that people will see in the site navigation so you can use spaces. Title examples would be "Birthday 2005" or "Summer Vaction".

7. The description is optional. If you want enter a little something describing this album.

8. When you are happy with what you've called things, click the "Save" button.

9. You should see the Folder Changes Saved message and you'll now be in the photo album folder. Now it's time to add photos.

Add Photos
10. In the drop down menu next to the "add new item" button, select "Photo" and click the "add new item" button.

11. Just as with the new photo album, you will again enter a short name, title and description for each image you are going to upload. For example, your first image might have a short name of "cake" and title of "The Birthday Cake".

12. After you've entered the short name and title, click the browse button to navigate to the image on your computer that you want to upload.

13. This will bring up a system dialog box that will allow you to browse your local computer's hard drive. Navigate to the folder that contains the image you want to upload. Select it and click open. You'll now see the path to the image in the field next to the browse button.

14. To finally upload the image to the photo album folder, click the "Save" button.

15. This will bring a page showing you the image that you uploaded.

16. To add another image to the album, click on the "contents" tab. This will show you the items in your photo album folder. Select photo from the drop down menu and click "add new item". You again see the same page from step 11.

Publish the Photo Album
17. Once you are done adding all your photos, click on the "contents" tab again to see the list of images in your photo album folder. In the upper right of the green bar, click on the "state:" menu and select "publish"

That's it... you new photo album should be visable to the world.
